Easter Morning.
An empty tomb.
Confusion.
Hope.
What was dead, alive.
What was meant for evil, good.
What was impossible, possible.
Last night I was walking in the parking lot at the grocery store to pick up some Easter goodies and had this thought about Jesus flicker across my heart and I stopped to notice it.
The Easter Story could also be called “No Matter What.”
No matter what.
No matter what, God’s love prevails.
No matter what, new life always emerges.
No matter what we’ve done, there’s always forgiveness.
No matter what we haven’t done, there’s always hope.
No matter what’s happened to us, there can always be a new chapter to our story.
No matter what we believe, God is always with us.
No matter what we don’t believe, God is always with us.
No matter what the world measures as success, Kingdom ways will never make sense.
No matter what people say about us, the truth of our true identity as God’s creation can’t be stolen.
No matter what we do or don’t do, there’s always grace.
No matter how low we go, God will always go lower.
No matter what death and darkness and struggle try to extinguish, beauty always rises from the ashes.
No matter what weird ways we use to pretend we are strong, humility and vulnerability are always stronger.
No matter what dreams are dashed, new ones can always break forth.
No matter what, Love wins.
No matter what.
To me, that’s the story of God, Jesus, the cross.
It’s God’s no matter what.
With Love and Gratitude this morning, Happy Easter from Colorado. xo
